Hi All,

Back in 2024 SNT and LPU officers responded to a report of a man being attacked on Eureka Park which left the victim with injuries after he was repeatedly kicked, punched and stamped on whilst on the floor.

SNT officers arrived within a minute of the call and located the four men responsible trying to leave the Swadlincote area by arranging for a taxi. Discarded/hidden machetes along with balaclavas were also located near to the four men leading to their arrest.

All were arrested and initially denied involvement in the incident but SNT completed a lengthy investigation to piece together their movements through large amounts of CCTV and forensic work to identify those responsible. All four were then subsequently charged with causing actual bodily harm and later admitted the offence when they appeared at court.

Lincoln Baker, 18, of Fowler Close, Midway, was already serving a 21-month prison sentence for burglary. His prison sentence has now been extended by a further 7 months for his involvement in the ABH offence.

Aston Durkin, 21, of Shrewsbury Road, Stretton, was already serving 28 months in prison for controlling/coercive behaviour and assault. He has now been given a further 8 months for ABH.

Ewan Litchfield, 21, of Lime Tree Ave, Midway was jailed for 13 months, suspended for 18 months. He must also complete 100 hours of unpaid work and given a six month curfew.

A 16year-old boy, who can’t be named for legal reasons, appeared at the youth court where he was given a 12 month youth referral order with reparation work. He must also pay £1,000 in fines and victim surcharges.

The three other males were also fined. All of the weapons have been destroyed.
